Event Policy

Proposals for events are approved by the group during general meetings (Sundays at 5 p.m.), on a case-by case basis with emphasis on the purpose and inclusiveness of the event. Priority is given to events that further the social goals of the space (opposition to all forms of prejudice, bigotry and oppression), as well as those that are both accessible and welcoming to a wide range of people. To propose an event, fill out the events form and bring it to a Sunday meeting, or submit it to a 123 volunteer in order to have them present it at the meeting. It is best to attend the meeting where your event will be discussed in order to answer any questions that may arise.

123 is a new community space in the heart of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. This grassroots effort is collaboration between several local groups and many individuals in the neighborhood. Currently, we have a free bike workshop, an after school program, a printshop, a lending library, political prisoner support, film screenings, and events all happening at 123. If you’d like to help or have ideas for new projects, please get involved! We have open meetings every Sunday at 5pm.
