Event Policy

Proposals for events are approved by the group during general meetings (Sundays at 5 p.m.), on a case-by case basis with emphasis on the purpose and inclusiveness of the event. Priority is given to events that further the social goals of the space (opposition to all forms of prejudice, bigotry and oppression), as well as those that are both accessible and welcoming to a wide range of people. To propose an event, fill out the events form and bring it to a Sunday meeting, or submit it to a 123 volunteer in order to have them present it at the meeting. It is best to attend the meeting where your event will be discussed in order to answer any questions that may arise.

The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Report is the
authoritative global document on the current and future impacts of climate
change. But is the IPCC corrupted by oil industry “scientists” and
painting an unduly rosy picture? Global warming expert Anthony Marr of
Heal Our Planet Earth (HOPE) believes the effects of methane and global
warming feedback loops are being grossly underestimated by the IPCC and
the need for action is far more desperate than we’ve been led to believe.

According to Anthony, if we do not radically change course in the next two
to three years, life on earth is doomed.
