REPORTBACKS

- pancake brunch: a smahsing success and we made 163.35!!
- Fun afterschool halloween party and folks not usually at teh program came to get their faces painted and candy

EVENT PROPOSALS
1)- freegan dinners at the same time as bike workshops. "open hours" for the space.
----Dave: last time this happened, folks hung out late, it was cliquish, and it felt like a living room where stragers were alienated
----wants to focus more on Community Outreach, to eliminate that feelings
----Quinn: folks did come in and were welcomed, not alienated
----the goal is to increase community
----Francesca: folks involved should go through volunteer training
----Andrew: I would suggest that other events take priority

----we came to consesnus on Freegan Bike Workshop using the kitchena nd having free food on wednesdays... barring special events, which will take priority (but might go along well with the food!)

2) IOH wants to host a book reading/event for "teachign rebellion" Oct 10, 2007, 7pm
--Process - thadeaus thought that if nothing is scheudled in the space, IOH can book events
--Dave thought forups thoudn't have the carte blacnghe access tot he space twithout going through the process of proposing an event
--Quinn - non-proposed events woudl the n be uknown to 123 folks, so they should be brought to meetings
--THadeaus - if IOH has laready met and approved an event, it doesn't make sense to have to argue the poitn again to 123. ABC doesnt' clear controversial prisoners for letter-writing
--Dave - all 123 groups have meetings outside the pace and bring their ideas to the group (123) this is a separate body and we come to consensus
--Francesca: two thigns, content and scheduling of events. Scheduling alone should dictate following process (and content will be elaborated during process anyway)
--Thadeaus - if FBW wantsw to have a special spoke repair night, they dont' have to discuss that with the group. ABC doens't just have letter-writing, but aslo sometimes speakers, IOH should be trusted to select content appropriate.
--Quinn - ABC has a set schedule and time, not simply deciding on tehir dtime and date bfore bringing it to 123 group
--Dave - thadeaus syas he respects the process but doesn't because he promoted an event at teh space before he brought it to the group to propose it.
--Quinn - adam proposes thigns last minute, but at meetings, and nothing has been rejected based on content. IOH would probably not get rejected and hasn't so far.
--Thadeaus - the issue is content and schedule
--Francesca: content is not the issue, bringing an event to the gorup and goign through the process, regardless of schedule or content. She proposed that all events not regularly scheduled should be brought to a meeting, and if it's an emergency last-minute thing, then organizer should go to great lengths to contact as many people from 123 as possible to check in. we reached consensus on this.

3) Freegan.info wants to host a buy-nothing day dinner on teh day after thanksgiving. consensus. details to be announced
